POSITION: Western India Sales Head

BUSINESS UNIT: Laboratory Products

REPORTS TO: India Region Sales Business Head.

DIRECT REPORTEES: SM, AM, ASM, Executives

DIVISION: Laboratory Equipments Division

LOCATION: Mumbai



PRODUCTS: Bio-safety Cabinets & Clean Air, CO2 Incubators, Cell Culture Sera, Media & Reagents, Centrifugation Chillers, Circulators, Water Baths Chromatography, Cold Storage Equipment, Diagnostics, Elemental Analysis, Fluid Handling, Heating Instruments, High-Content Screening & Analysis, LIMS & Laboratory Software, Lab Furniture and Fume Hoods, Laboratory Automation & Integration, Laboratory Consumables & Pipetting, Life Science Reagents, Mass Spectrometry, etc

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Regional Sales Manager  will be responsible for the entire operations of Laboratory Products business line in the Western Region. These will include strategic planning for long term growth, business development with new products, market development with existing products, budgeting, pricing, handling current business  & will have Sales Managers and Executives supporting him. To provide direct representation to end users Pharmaceutical, Chemical , Rubber Industries, Research & Academic Institutes; Sales Plans, organizes, implements sales programs for the region. Plans and is responsible for achieving sales objectives in the region. Trains, develops, and mentors inside and/or outside sales representatives or distributors for the region. Coordinates budgets, forecasts, and reports. Must have experience in selling of Lab Equipments / Industrial equipments used in Research Applications, Biotech Capital Equipments or Lab Consumables. He should have excellent in communication skills and capable of independently handling assignments.
To provide strategic direction and leadership towards exceeding sales and profit targets; managing Specific Working Capital and expanding the business through global networking, industry knowledge, and expertise.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Direction-Setting

1. Sets strategy and provides direction to achieve business goals in line with global directions.

2. Ensures on-time and on-budget execution of business objectives.

3. Sets Business Lines/Business Groups annual budget.

Sales and Profitability

1. Oversees proper account management.

2. Identifies cost parameters and effective pricing strategies to ensure proper pricing, favorable contract terms, and maximize targeted revenues and gross margins.

3. Provides guidance to Sales Managers in carrying out strategies through their direct reports.

4. Leads in strengthening and enhancing relationships with key strategic accounts and partner suppliers.

5. Leads in maintaining collaborative relationships with technical support to drive resolution of technical related issues and to help achieve Teams objectives.

New Business Development

1. Ensures that the BL/BG generates the targeted GM1 from new product development projects by acquiring new accounts, new Industry segments and developing new suppliers through the Sales Managers and direct reports.

2. Leads in growing the supplier base of BL/BG by sourcing new suppliers and/ or products through network and by attending business-related exhibitions.

3. Oversees New Product Development projects in coordination with technical support and provides direction and focus to Application and Formulation Lab to ensure maximum output.

4. Drives the BLs participation in Global initiatives and working teams that support technology transfers, facilitate commercializing and communicating local innovations, and leverage best practices and product concepts in the global market whenever applicable.

SWC Management

Sets parameters for proper sales forecasting and oversees proper management of inventory (including accurate sales forecasting) and account receivables through the Section Managers and direct reports.


Desired ProfileEducation and Experience Required

1 Graduate of ENGINEERING BS Chemistry, Pharmacy, Food Tech and Chemical Engineering, or other related courses; preferably with MBA;

2. Minimum of 7 years experience in both sales/marketing and management

3. Broad network in the same business preferred.
